A vada (or vadai, wada, vade) is a savoury South Indian snack.

Ingredients for Vada:

  • 1/2 cup Moong Daal
  • 1/2 cup Urad Daal
  • 1 Onion
  • 2 tsp Coriander
  • 1 Green Chili
  • 1/2 tsp Chili powder
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Baking Soda

Directions for making Vada:

  1. Soak urad daal and moong daal for 2-3 hours.
  2. Grind daals into a coarse paste.
  3. Add finely chopped onion, salt, coriander powder, chili powder OR green chili, ginger and soda. Mix well and set
    aside for 4-5 minutes.
  4. Fry small spoonfuls of the mixture in hot oil.
  5. Enjoy your Vada. Hope you love this Indian recipe.
