Garam masala is a blend of ground aromatic spices common in the Indian cuisine often added to curry near the end of cooking to add great flavour and aroma. Garam masala is often added to indian food like pakoras and somasas.
Ingredients for Garam Masala:
5 tsp coriander seeds
1 Tbsp. cumin seeds
1 Tbsp black peppercorns
1 tsp whole cloves
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp green cardomon pods
Directions for making Garam Masala:
Toast coriander and cumin seeds for 3-5 min.
Combine with other ingredients and grind in mortar/pestle (or blender).
Store in a bottle for up to 6 months.
