INDIAN RECIPE: Paruppu podi

Paruppu Podi is a traditional as well one of the most common item found in many of the house holds in South India. Paruppu podi is ground dry and it is in powder form and can be stored for long.

Ingredients for Paruppu podi:

  • gram dal - 1
  • toor dal or Pottu kadalai - 1
  • whole red peppers - 5

Directions for making Paruppu podi:

  1. Roast the above without oil, add salt and asafoetida and grind into a very fine powder.
